Less than four years after opening, the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland will be no more.

The casino said Monday that it will close for 40 hours beginning 11:59 p.m. on Monday to transfer daily operations from Caesars Entertainment to owner JACK Entertainment. The casino will be called JACK Cleveland Casino.

The casino is scheduled to re-open at 4 p.m. local time on Wednesday, May 11.

Dan Gilbert’s Rock Gaming announced the changes in February, which will also affect the Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati. New names for ThistleDown Racino in Ohio and Greektown Casino in Detroit are forthcoming as well.

Caesars Entertainment, owner of the Horseshoe brand, sold its 20-percent stake in the Ohio facilities to Rock Gaming last year. A Caesars operating unit is currently undergoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The Caesars-Rock Gaming partnership was formed for Ohio’s casino legalization in 2009.

Penn National Gaming owns and operates Ohio’s two other Las Vegas-style brick-and-mortar casinos, one in Toledo and one in Columbus.
