In an effort to close the gap between himself and Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders appeared in Atlantic City, one of the most depressed cities in America, on Monday to blast the business experience of Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

Though Trump is no longer a casino owner in Atlantic City, his name is still there. The Trump Taj Mahal successfully emerged from bankruptcy this year thanks to Trump supporter Carl Icahn.

After a crowd reacted strongly to him taking a shot at Icahn and Trump during the rally, Sanders continued: “Oh, you know Donald Trump? Well, I take it you don’t think he is a brilliant, successful businessman who can bring the kind of prosperity to America that he has brought here.”

In 2014, the year in which four Atlantic City casinos closed, Trump defended his past business dealings in the city. “Does anybody notice that Atlantic City lost its magic after I left years ago,” he asked on Twitter in a series of posts. He claimed he was “plus $10 billion” from Atlantic City.

Trump said poor decisions from politicians are to blame for the city’s dire financial situation.

Sanders’ comments weren’t the first time during this election season that a Democrat running for president has blasted Trump on his own turf. In October, Clinton appeared in Las Vegas for a debate and mocked Trump in front of his own hotel.

Atlantic City is on the verge of bankruptcy, as Garden State lawmakers have so far been unable to compromise on a rescue package. Gov. Christie has remained committed to a proposal that would allow New Jersey to have control over the fate of union contracts.
