WikipediaPrior to the start of Sunday’s game three of the Western Conference Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder, former NBA player Gilbert Arenas took to one of his social media accounts to give some sports betting advice.

The advice came from a man who said he recently put $500,000 on the Cleveland Cavaliers winning the title, thanks in part to his belief that there’s a better chance of President Obama getting a third term in office than the Toronto Raptors taking the series.

According to Arenas, sports bettors should have bet the over (220) on game three between the Warriors and Thunder. Anyone who had faith in Arenas’ logic cashed in, because the Thunder ended up winning 133-105 to take a 2-1 lead in the series.

“Game 1 total was 225 but they scored (210)…..Game 2 total was 223 but they scored (209)….Game (3) total is (220)….why would vegas put the over so high if they havent been close?? Its sunday they need ppl to take GS -2.5 -3 and the under so they can win money back. The only line that looks good to me is the (OVER 220) this is why…#OKC plays fast at home….and #GS is like a circus show on the road…they try to shoot u out ur own arena.”

He followed up with a “disclaimer” about taking his sports betting advice:

“So take the OVER for the game…..the over/under at half is 110…as long as the total is at least 103 ur still safe……GOOD LUCK…and heres my disclaimer…if im wrong, why the hell u taking advice from a guy who brung a gun to work (obviously im a moron) hahaha.”

Arenas fell into hot water in 2009 when he was found to have brought guns into the locker room when he was playing for the Washington Wizards.

His love of gambling extends to poker. Arenas entered the 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure main event, and even played some cash games before the tournament.
