How to Play?

When you enter a CardPlayerDraft tournament you are given a set amount of money known as your “salary cap” and you use that to purchase players to add to your lineup. The strategy is about figuring out which players will get you the most fantasy points for the salary cap dollars you spend. Once you have completed a full lineup, you enter the tournament and pay the entry fee. If for some reason you want to swap out a player before the tournament starts, all you have to do is click on “My Contests” in the lobby and you can find your lineup to edit it and swap players.

As the real life sports games are being played, your athletes will score points based on the in-game stats they get. After all of the sports games are complete the tournament standings will go final and prizes will be paid out.

Tournament Offerings

CardPlayerDraft currently offers NFL, NBA, and MLB contests with plans for NHL in the future.

CardPlayerDraft offers nightly tournaments and guaranteed prize pool (GPP) tournaments. GPP tournaments have a more traditional “poker tournament” style payout where the payouts scale up as you get closer to 1st place.

CardPlayerDraft also has head-to-head tournaments that run as soon as they are filled and 50/50 tournaments where have the field win’s prizes.

If you use the tournaments filters tab in the lobby, all of the “Tournaments” and any “50/50’s” with “GTD” in the title are guaranteed prizes. This means that even if those tournaments don’t fill they will still run, which often translates into a prize overlay. By targeting these tournaments it can be a great way to try out DFS while gaining some equity.
