Fedor Holz is terrorizing the tournament poker world.
The German poker pro has made 11 final tables in 2016, winning four titles and cashing for $9,128,265 along the way. Most recently he has won $25,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em high roller events in back-to-back weeks. On June 10 he topped a field of 39 in the Aria High Roller 32 to earn $393,120 and exactly a week later he returned to the winners circle, defeating a 30-entry turnout in the Aria High Roller 34 to add another $276,012 to his totals.
With $12,990,974 in total career earnings Holz occupies the top spot on the German all-time money list, a country that has produced some of the biggest names in the high stakes tournament scene in Ole Schemion ($11,054,141), Igor Kurganov ($11,017,860), Tobias Reinkemeier ($10,229,882), Philipp Gruissem ($10,054,711) and also the 2011 World Series of Poker main event champion in Pius Heinz ($8,898,397).
Holz also earned 420 Card Player Player of the Year points for this most recent win. With 3,718 total points Holz has taken the outright lead in the POY standings, with a 516 point lead over Ari Engel who has sat in the top spot since early February.
Holz has put together an incredible run. Three of his four titles have come in Aria high roller events, with the fourth being his win in the $200,000 buy-in World Poker Tour Philippines super high roller. He topped a field of 52 players in that event to win the $3,463,500 top prize, which somehow was not his largest score of the year. That would be the $3.5 million payday he earned with his runner-up showing in the $300,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl.
Can anything stop the 22-year-old? It sure doesn’t seem like it.
