Card Player has made the decision that players are no longer allowed to count more than one screen name per poker site toward their Online Player of the Year (OPOY) score. The policy was clarified for a few reasons, mainly relating to overall fairness and credibility. Online poker sites allow only one screen name per user, and the OPOY should reflect this policy.
This decision will be applied from this point forward and also retroactively, meaning the change will affect the current OPOY standings. Most significantly, this policy clarification affects Sorel "Imper1um" Mizzi, who was the No. 1 ranked player when the OPOY first launched on April 9. Mizzi had made a 720-point win under the screen name kristy_sea, which was previously attributed to him, but will no longer be counted toward his total score. Mizzi now sits in eighth place on the list, with 2,154 OPOY points.
Card Player is devoted to ensuring the accuracy of information on its site. Players and readers can help in this pursuit by e-mailing us at
[email protected] should any inaccuracies or missing information arise. With information constantly changing in the online poker industry, room review details and player information are susceptible to becoming outdated at a rapid pace, and when readers point such things out, the site becomes more useful for everyone.
Should players need to
permanently change their screen names for whatever reason, or merge two screen names from different poker sites that are currently counting as separate players, they may contact
