Casinos in Macau won a combined $2.72 billion from gamblers during October, according to figures released by city gaming regulators.

The amount marks the third straight month that gaming win has increased compared to the same month in 2015. In October, gaming win rose nearly nine percent year-over-year.

The $2.72 billion was the best month for Macau in nearly two years. Revenue increased 7.4 percent in September and 1.1 percent in August.

According to a report from The Australian, October win was expected to increase 4-6 percent. So the results were better than anticipated. High rollers reportedly helped drive October’s unexpected result.

Two new casinos have opened during the recent Macau winning streak. In August, the $4 billion Wynn Palace started taking bets, and then in September the $2.9 billion Parisian Macau from Las Vegas Sands Corp. opened.

A new $3 billion casino from MGM will open next year.
