Alan FindlayFor the first time ever the Card Player Poker Tour has made it’s way to Niagara Falls, partnering with the Seneca Niagara Casino for their Fall Poker Classic. The nine-event tournament series got underway Friday, Nov. 4 with a $75,000 guaranteed, $300 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament that featured four starting flights. Alan Findlay emerged victorious in that event, topping a field of 603 entrants to win the first title of the series, a trophy and the $19,546 first-place prize. The massive turnout saw the prize pool easily double the guarantee, ending up with $151,805 to be awarded to the top 63 finishers.

Findlay had made a three-way deal, with Amin Akhlagi taking home $27,710, Maurice Sussem locking up $21,838 and Findlay securing the previously mentioned $19,546. The three then decided to play it out for the title. After a while they decided to just play a flip to determine who finished where. Findlay made the best pair by the river to secure the title.
