The Card Player Poker Tour has returned to the beautiful island of St. Maarten for the third consecutive year of the CPPT St. Maarten Caribbean no-limit hold’em main event. The $100,000 guaranteed tournament features a $1,100 buy-in and is set to kick off on Friday, April 7 at 3 p.m local time. The tournament has two starting flights, with the survivors of day 1A and day 1B combining to play down to a champion on Sunday, April 9.

The main event is part of a 39-event poker festival that is once again taking place at Casino Royale and being hosted by the great poker team from Card Player Cruises. Players are treated to all-inclusive accommodations at the Sonesta Maho Resort, which overlooks the famous Maho Beach that features the low-flying planes coming in to land on the Dutch island.

A complete schedule of all the events offered over the series, which runs from March 30 – April 9 can be found here. Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher are on hand to serve as hosts, while the always-popular Zack Lawmaster has returned as the tournament director.

Brandon Rupp won event no. 4Plenty of fantastic tournaments have already wrapped up leading into the main event. The first $235 no-limit hold’em event of the series drew 24 entries, with Brandon Rupp emerging victorious with the title and the top prize of $2,328.

The $340 no-limit hold’em drew 27 entries with Duval Fenton coming out on top to win $3,928. In the $235 pot-limit Omaha event Michael Leah took down the winner-take-all event for $1,440.

The $340 no-limit hold’em event with $100 bounties saw the final four players make a chop, earning Steve Nichols, Imre Vegh, Ajay Uanjani and Ricardo Chemptajune $1,445 each.

The main event is sure to be the biggest draw of the entire series. In 2016 Keith Romanovitz outlasted a field of 125 entries to win the title and the top prize of $33,950.

Guests at Sonesta Maho have to only cross the street to get to Casino Royale’s main doors and enter into 21,000 square feet of gaming possibilities. Casino Royale is home to 21 pit game tables featuring American and French roulette, craps, blackjack, three-card poker, Let it Ride, Caribbean Poker, and Texas hold’em. Beyond the tables, patrons will find more than 400 slot machines ranging from classic games to video slots.
