Harrah's is teaming up with the Nevada Cancer Institute (NVCI) during the World Series of Poker to both raise money for the institute and to also give players a place to lounge.
Harrah's is providing a VIP lounge at the Rio for players who donate $1,000 or more to the NVCI. The lounge will be available for the entire WSOP. It will be open 24 hours and will feature food and beverages, plasma-screen TVs, a pool table, and more. Players who donate will also be given special parking privileges.
"The WSOP is committed to helping the Nevada Cancer Institute continue its important and ground-breaking work," said Jeffrey Pollack, commissioner of the WSOP. "The new VIP lounge is one way to enlist the support of the poker community. It's good for our players and good for NVCI."
NVCI Institute is a nonprofit organization committed to reducing the development of cancer.
The WSOP starts June 1.
