While the WSOP is poker’s largest and most popular poker series, it will not be the only venue for great poker action and incredible tournament value this summer. There will be thousands of fantastic tournaments to enter away from the Rio. Card Player already published an overview of the best Las Vegas summer series outside of the WSOP, which you can check out here.
In this article, Card Player lays out a week-by-week look at Sin City’s biggest events with affordable buy-in price points so that you can find the best values. We sought out events throughout the summer with buy-ins of no higher than $1,600 and guaranteed prize pools worth at least six figures.

Here is the weekly breakdown of Las Vegas summer series’ best value tournaments outside of the Rio:
Week of June 5 – 11
A great $2,500,000 guaranteed $1,100 event kicks off over at Venetian Las Vegas. The tournament has three starting flights, each beginning at noon on June 5 – 7. The room will also host a $400,000 guaranteed $600 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament which starts on June 10 with the first of three starting flights, each beginning at noon.
The Golden Nugget steps up the guarantee to $200,000 for it’s $200 buy-in ‘Ultimate Re-Entry’ no-limit hold’em event which runs from June 8 – 11. The tournament has nine total starting flights, three each on June 8 – 10 with the flights beginning at 11:00 am, 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
Week of June 12 – 18
The low buy-in, high prize pool action continues over at Planet Hollywood with their $600 Ultimate Goliath Stack no-limit hold’em event. The $500,000 guaranteed tournament has four starting flights in total, with flight 1A beginning at 5:00 pm on June 12, flights 1B and 1C at 11:00 am and 5:00 pm on June 13 and the final starting flight beginning at 11:00 am on June 14. Just a few days later they will host a second $600 Ultimate Goliath Stack no-limit hold’em tournament, once again guaranteeing $500,000. This time around the four starting flights will be spread over June 17 – 20, following the same pattern of 5:00 pm on June 17, 11:00 am and 5:00 pm on June 19 and 11:00 am on June 20.
On Wednesday, June 14 Wynn Las Vegas will launch a $1,000,000 guaranteed $1,100 buy-in no-limit hold’em event. The tournament sports four starting flights, each beginning at noon local time on June 14 – 17. Survivors will return on the June 18 to play down to a champion.
Back at Venetian Las Vegas they continue their streak of huge guarantees with a $800,000 promised prize pool for a $800 eight-handed no-limit hold’em tournament. The event will have three starting flights which commence at noon each day on June 16 – 18.
Week of June 19 – 25
Another week, another huge guarantee at Venetian Las Vegas. This time around the tournament is a $1,600 buy-in no-limit hold’em event with a $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. The event sports three starting flights, each beginning at noon on June 19 – 21.
Back at the Golden Nugget they are hosting another $100,000 guaranteed tournament with only a $150 buy-in as part of their Grand Poker Series. There are six total starting flights, with three each day on June 23 and 24. The flights will start at 11:00 am, 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
Week of June 26 – July 2
The end of June will be a very busy week for players looking for great tournament values. Binion’s Hotel and Casino, the original home of the World Series of Poker, kicks off their $200,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em event on June 25. The $850 buy-in tournament has three starting flights, each starting at 11:00 am on June 25 – 27.
Also in downtown will be the Golden Nugget’s $500,000 guaranteed $570 buy-in event. The tournament has three starting flights, each beginning at 11:00 am on June 29 – July 1.
The Venetian will host another $600 buy-in SuperStack no-limit hold’em event with a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool. The event has three starting flights, beginning at noon each day from June 30 – July 2.
One of the big tournaments this week is the WPT500 event at Aria. The $565 buy-in no-limit hold’em event sports a $1 million guaranteed prize pool and nine starting flights, with the event running from June 26 – July 5. The starting flights begin at 11:00 am from June 26 – July 3, the final day of which will see two turbo starting flights beginning at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm. Survivors from all of the starting flights return on day 2 on July 4. A champion will be decided the following day.
Week of July 3 – 9
The fireworks over the strip won’t be the only explosive action this week. The Wynn will host a $1,000,000 guaranteed $1,600 buy-in no-limit hold’em championship event, with three starting flights each starting st noon from July 4 – 6.
The Venetian has a $500,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em bounty event. The $1,600 buy-in will award $500 bounties and kicks off at noon on July 7.
Planet Hollywood’s 2017 Goliath Phamous Poker Series will reach it’s climax with the $1,000,000 guaranteed $1,650 buy-in ‘Grand Finale.’ The event has three starting flights, each beginning at 11:00 am on July 9 – 11.
Week of July 10 – 16
After weeks and weeks of incredible value offerings, the action around Las Vegas begins to slow down with the World Series of Poker main event having kicked off on July 8.
While Planet Hollywood’s Grand Finale continues on into this week, the biggest event to actually start this week is the $1,500,000 guaranteed SuperStack no-limit hold’em event at Venetian Las Vegas. The $1,100 buy-in has only two starting flights, which kick off at noon on July 14 and 15.
The Wynn has a $200,000 guaranteed $1,100 buy-in event which begins at noon on July 13.
Week of July 17 – 23
The final recommendation we have for players seeking out a last-chance value tournament is a $250,000 guaranteed $600 buy-in no-limit hold’em event at Venetian. The tournament has three starting flights, each beginning at noon on July 20 – 22. Survivors will return on July 23 to play down to a champion.
