WSOP Tournament Director ResignsBob Daily Is Moving Into Online Gaming |

Bob Daily, an employee of Harrah's for 11 years who served as the tournament director for the World Series of Poker in 2005 and 2006 and was part of the planning team for the 2007 WSOP, is moving on. He resigned from Harrah's and accepted a position with on the board of DG Holdings to lead the company's online gaming platform division.
"I have greatly enjoyed my years with Harrah's, and especially the World Series of Poker," said Daily. "I have every confidence this year's WSOP will run smoothly and efficiently and if I did not feel strongly that the tournament was ready, I would not have left at this time."
Harrah's spokesman Gary Thompson had this to say about Daily:
"Bob resigned of his own volition. We will miss his guidance, counsel, and passion for the game, and wish him well in his future endeavors."
Jack Effel, a 32-year-old who has dealt, opened, and managed poker rooms since he was 21, is this year's tournament director. He shared the title of tournament director for last year's WSOP and also held the titles of director of poker operations and WSOP Circuit director for Harrah's.
