The first-ever running of the Card Player Poker Tour Live! Casino & Hotel series got underway on January 4, 2018. The 16-event poker festival, taking place at what was voted Maryland’s Best Casino five years running by Casino Player Magazine, will run from Jan. 4-14. The centerpiece of the whole schedule is the three-day $1,100 buy-in CPPT no-limit hold’em main event that boasts a $200,000 guarantee and runs from Jan. 12-14, with the two starting flights beginning at 12:15 PM local time on the 12th and 13th.
Earlier in the week Card Player brought you a look at the results from the first five events of the series. Four more tournaments have now come to a close as the action remains fast and furious in the Live! Poker Room.
The sixth event of the series was a $375 buy-in no-limit hold’em survivor tournament that drew 42 total entries to create a $14,700 prize pool. The top four finishers all earned a $3,500 payday, while James Cornblatt scored $700 as the fifth-place finisher.

The next tournament on the schedule was a $240 buy-in no-limit hold’em ‘Triple Stacks’ event. The 43 entries built a $9,030 total prize pool.
In the end Jason Daniel, Don George and Jamie Spriggs made a deal once the tournament reached three-handed action that saw them essentially chop the remaining prize money three ways.

In addition to a variety of no-limit hold’em events the CPPT Live! Casino & Hotel series also offers a number of mixed-game offerings, including the $240 Omaha eight-or-better/seven-card stud eight-or-better event. A total of 46 entries built a prize pool of $9,660. In the end it was Aaron Pinson who came out on top, taking home $2,348 for the win. This was Pinson’s third tournament title, with each and every win coming right here at the Live! Poker Room. The Baltimore, MD resident now has more than $159,000 in lifetime live tournament earnings.

The most recent event to reach a conclusion this week was the $300 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament. With 63 entries this event built a $16,695 prize pool. The top eight finishers made the money, with Angelo Rossi being the last player standing. Rossi earned $3,764 as the champion.
