The inaugural Card Player Poker Tour Live! Casino & Hotel kicked off on January 4, 2018 at what has been voted Maryland’s Best Casino five years running by Casino Player Magazine. The 16-event poker series is taking place from Jan. 4-14. The centerpiece of the whole schedule is the three-day $1,100 buy-in CPPT no-limit hold’em main event that boasts a $200,000 guarantee. That event got underway on Friday, Jan. 12 with the first of two starting days and will continue until a champion is decided on Sunday, Jan. 14.

Earlier in the week Card Player brought you a couple of recaps of the preliminary tournaments, first covering events 1-5 and then events 6-9.-

The tenth tournament of the series was the $350 buy-in no-limit hold’em ‘Black Chip’ bounty event. The event drew a field of 38 entries to create a $7,980 prize pool.

Nikolas KursmanNikolas Kursman emerged victorious with the title, taking home $2,532 for the win.

Event #9 was the only six-max no-limit hold’em event on offer this week. The $350 buy-in event saw 59 entries build a prize pool of $18,054. The top eight finishers made the money, with eventual champion Timothy Donaldson taking home the first-prize payday of $6,500. Third-place finisher Steven Nooralian earned $2,392 for his deep run just days after winning $3,500 in the $375 survivor event.

The next tournament on the schedule was the lone pot-limit Omaha event of the series. The $350 buy-in eight-max event attracted 13 total entries and built a $3,978 prize pool.

Timothy BishopTimothy Bishop came out on top in this PLO showdown, taking home $2,586 for the win.

The final tournament to wrap up before the $200,000 guaranteed main event got underway on Friday, Jan. 12 was the $240 buy-in no-limit hold’em ‘Triple Stacks’ event. With 64 entries there was $13,440 up for grabs in this one. The lion’s share of that money was ultimately awarded to Joseph Mirabile, who came out on top with the title and $3,669.
