The poker world is teaming up with the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation on February 25, 2018 for an exciting charity event benefitting the Folded Flag Foundation, a nonprofit founded by Vegas Golden Knights owner and West Point graduate Bill Foley, that aides the families of fallen U.S. military heroes with financial support for continued education. The Charity Series of Poker event is called Above the Fold – A Sky-High Salute to Service and Sacrifice and it is set to take place at the Andaz Hotel West Hollywood starting at 1:00 p.m. The event will be hosted and emceed by Poker Hall of Famer Daniel Negreanu, and features a $400 buy-in charity poker tournament with $200 rebuys and add-ons. Following the tournament, there will be a reception and casino night, with a silent auction, hors-d’oeuvres, and an open bar. Reception tickets will cost $195.

The charity poker tournament will give those interested in participating a chance to help raise money for the cause while also playing alongside the likes of Negreanu, Todd Brunson, Lacey Jones, Joe Stapleton, Adam Levy and of course Matt Stout, founder and president of the CSOP.

CSOP Founder Matt StoutStout, who has more than $7.5 million in combined live and online tournament earnings, established the Charity Series of Poker in 2014 and has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Three Square, Habitat For Humanity, Maximum Hope Foundation, Ellie DIPG Research Fund, and The Community FoodBank of New Jersey.

“I started the CSOP in the first place because I saw a really good opportunity to bring poker and some amazing charities together. The poker community always had a good reputation for being generous, always giving freely whenever called upon, but there was nobody really putting together great charity events that were constant annual affairs. It was just a lot of random, one-off events. The CSOP promotes awareness for these reputable and effective charities, and the players can trust that they’ll get a well-run tournament and great time.”

The $400 buy-in event with $200 re-buys and add-ons will not only allow players to help a worthy cause, but also give them a shot a winning their way into the 2018 WSOP. The winner will also play heads-up against Negreanu for a private poker lesson. The top six finishers will receive payouts, and there will also be prizes awarded to the chip leader at the end of the rebuy period and the player who purchases the most rebuys.

If you’d like to play in the event, you can RSVP at FoldedFlagFoundation.org/LA. To learn more about the Charity Series of Poker, click here.
