Poker rooms sprinkled around the American gambling hub reported a solid year-over-year revenue increase last month, according to figures from the Nevada Gaming Control Board released Wednesday.
The 39 poker rooms in Clark County, NV, home to Las Vegas, reported rake of $8.11 million during February, an increase of 2.1 percent compared to February 2017. Revenue of $107.76 million over the past 12 months was a 1.5 percent increase compared to the same period a year prior. There were nearly 470 tables last month in Las Vegas, a number which fluctuates on a seasonal basis.
Poker revenue of $8.96 million statewide was a 1.4 percent year-over-year increase. There are 64 poker rooms in Nevada, with a combined 590 tables last month.
About 90 percent of Nevada poker revenue is generated in Las Vegas.
The 18 rooms on or around the Las Vegas Strip, the state’s main casino corridor, raked $5.62 million, up 0.7 percent year-over-year. There were 276 Strip-area poker tables.
Over the past year, the Strip poker rooms raked $78.38 million, up less than a percent.
Statewide, poker revenue has grown year-over-year in nine of the last 10 months. January revenue of $9 million was virtually flat, but was technically down by less than 0.1 percent.
