Almedin Imsirovic has won the 2018 Borgata Spring Poker Open $2,700 buy-in no-limit hold’em event, outlasting a total field of 519 entries to win $246,066. In addition to the title and the money Imsirovic also earned 1,240 Card Player Player of the Year points. This was his second title of the year, and as a result he has climbed into 34th place in the overall standings. Of his nearly $700,000 in lifetime live tournament earnings, a total of $420,314 have come in 2018.

Imsirovic came into the final six in second chip position, behind only Farid Jattin, who won the $1,650 buy-in event at the 2017 Winter Poker Open for $241,651 last December. Imsirovic won a key pot off of Jattin early to take the lead, and then steamrolled his way to heads-up play. Imsirovic took roughly a 6-to-1 lead into the final showdown against Jattin.

Jattin fought back in the early going before he found a double up, getting all-in with the 8Diamond Suit2Diamond Suit on a QDiamond Suit6Club Suit3Diamond Suit5Heart Suit board against Imsirovic’s QHeart Suit9Diamond Suit. The river brought the ADiamond Suit and Jattin made a flush to double up and even up the stacks. The two then struck a deal that saw Imsirovic take home $246,066 while Jattin earned $243,521.
