LeBron James is having a remarkable postseason, and he further cemented his legendary status by dropping 35 points in a game seven win over the Boston Celtics on Monday night. He’s seemingly unstoppable in elimination games.
The 35 points just barely eclipsed his lifetime average in elimination games, according to ESPN. He failed to beat his 38-point over/under line for the game, however, at the prominent Westgate Superbook in Las Vegas. Per ESPN, the 38-point line is believed to be a record for any single player in NBA history, both for the regular season and postseason.
James’ performance, coupled with a Golden State Warriors win on Monday as well, puts the two teams in their fourth straight finals battle. The Warriors will open as huge favorites this time, however. The team has opened as high as -1,000 in Sin City. The Cavs opened at +650.
The Warriors are 12-point favorites for game one on Thursday.
