Brett BaderThe Card Player Poker Tour Isle Casino main event continued Friday at Pompano Park with day 1B action. This time around, 87 players entered the $1,100 buy-in tournament, bringing the total field size to 137.

With just one starting flight remaining, and a $250,000 guarantee, the tournament will need a strong turnout on Saturday to avoid an overlay. Of course, registration is open until the start of day 2 on Sunday for any latecomers looking for a big payday.

Tom Gity bagged up the lead with 223,000 after day 1A, but he wouldn’t have even made the top five in the day 1B flight. While the first starting day saw just two players crack the 200,000 mark, six players managed the feat on Friday.

Brian HastingsLeading the way is Brett Bader, who rode a surge up the leaderboard to bag up a whopping 323,000. He’s followed by WPT Deepstacks champion Scott Baumstein with 293,000, Fernando Halac with 280,000, and AJ Gambino with 260,500.

Sitting in fifth place entering day 2 is four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and high-stakes cash game crusher Brian Hastings. Hastings got off to a fast start in the tournament when his pocket aces held against two players, holding pocket kings and pocket jacks. The South Florida transplant will take 229,500 into Sunday’s day 2.

The tournament resumes Saturday, at 2 p.m. ET with day 1C. Here is a look at the complete overnight chip counts from day 1B.
