Readers of poker magazines certainly have their loyalties, and now a tournament has been set up to determine which magazine's readers are the most poker savvy.
Paddy Power Poker is hosting what it calls the "Battle of the Mags" tournament, an event that will pit a slew of poker magazine readers from the United Kingdom against each other in an attempt to determine which magazine has done the best job of training its readers.
The magazines with readers in competition in the event include
Card Player Europe,
Poker Europa,
Poker Pro Europe,
Total Poker,
Antepost,
Flush,
Gambling Online Magazine, and
Online Gambler.
Players can qualify for the tournament via online qualifiers on PaddyPowerPoker that will run from July to September. Each magazine will hold its own individual freeroll tournament on the site and the top players in that tournament will go on to play in the live final event in London. The ultimate winner of the tournament will represent his favorite magazine in four major tournaments on the European circuit.
Those interested in playing for
Card Player Europe in the tournament can sign up for the
Card Player-specific $5,000 freeroll on PaddyPowerPoker that will take place on July 29. The winner of the freeroll will represent
Card Player at the live final table in London. Click
