2019 Card Player Poker Tour World Cup of Cards: Day 1A Draws 139 Entries

James Allan Werry Leads The 26 Players Moving On To Day 2 Of This $250,000 CAD Guaranteed Tournament

Day 1A of the 2019 Card Player Poker Tour World Cup of Cards $250,000 CAD guaranteed $1,100 CAD no-limit hold’em main event is in the books. A total of 139 entries turned out to Playground Poker Club in Montreal for the first of two starting flights, with 26 players remaining after 16 levels of exciting poker action.

The chip leader following the conclusion of day 1A was James Allan Werry with 375,000. Other big stacks include Luigi Fantigrossi (309,500), Graham Squires (248,500), and Carter Swidler (239,500).

Danny FreitasAlso among the 26 to make it to day 2 was Danny Freitas, who topped a massive field of 2,401 entries to win the World Series of Poker International Circuit $1,100 CAD main event at Playground Poker Club back in 2018 for $227,096 USD. He ended day 1A with 148,000.

Day 1B kicks off at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, with late registration open until the beginning of level 10. The survivors of the two starting flights will combine on Wednesday, Feb. 6 for day 2.

Players will start with 30,000 in chips, with 30-minute levels throughout day 1B. This is a single re-entry event, with one entry and a re-entry permitted until the end of the late registration period for each starting flight.

A player can play Day 1B even if they survived Day 1A with chips. They would take forward their largest stack and forfeit the smaller if were they to bag up chips on both days.
