Betfair and Harrah's Make WSOP Europe Deal

Betfair Will Be Presenting Partner of WSOP Europe

Earlier this week, Betfair.com signed a nonbinding letter of intent with Harrah's to be the "Presenting Sponsor" of the World Series of Poker Europe through 2011.

As part of the agreement, Betfair.com will promote WSOP Europe year-round and will also be integrated into "several facets" of the Series, according to a press release.

WSOP Europe starts this fall.

"This is a historical deal for us," said David Yu, CEO of Betfair.com. "To present the WSOP, with its 38-year tradition, on its first venture in Europe, is a great honor."

Terms of the deal were not disclosed and the letter of intent needs to be made into a contract that will be signed by both parties before the deal is official.
