The World Series of Poker bracelet winner and Fallston, Maryland native overcame a total field of 371 entries to win $116,363.
The final day of this event kicked off with nine players returning to Live! Casino & Hotel in Hanover, Maryland. Liberto was the overall chip leader, but he had just one more big blind than Chris Csik.
Liberto eliminated Feng Li in seventh place ($18,365) with his set of deuces on the flop besting Li’s top pair, top kicker. He furthered his lead by taking a large chunk of out Asaf Ben-Shushan’s stack. Ben-Shushan was eliminated shortly afterward in fifth place, taking home $26,489.
At this point is when Liberto truly began to take over the final table. He called a three0bet shove from Ryan Tamanini with AJ. Tamanini made two pair with his Q10 on the 87510Q runout, but Liberto rivered the nut flush to secure the pot and the knockout. Tamanini was awarded $33,947 as the fourth-place finisher.
Chris Csik was the next to go, shoving over Liberto’s button min-raise from the small blind with A2. Liberto called with the AK and made Broadway on the turn to send Csik home with $52,367.
Liberto held nearly a 2-to-1 lead over Noah Shefrin when heads-up play began, and he quickly extended that advantage to more than a 9-to-1 disparity by the time the final hand of the tournament arose. Shefrin shoved from the button with A8 for 11 big blinds and Liberto called with pocket deuces. The board ran out Q43J2 and Liberto rivered a set to lock up the pot.
