Tim Adams has made three final tables in 2019. He came away with the title in all three events. The Canadian poker pro’s most recent win saw him outlast a field of 109 total entries in the 2019 European Poker Tour Monte Carlo €25,000 buy-in single day no-limit hold’em high roller. Adams was awarded €548,030 ($613,794 USD) as the champion.

Adams took down the $50,000 high roller at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in January for $372,508. In March he won the $2,000,000 HKD ($254,779 USD) buy-in no-limit hold’em main event at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju for $27,760,500 HKD ($3,608,865 USD). Adams now has career live tournament earnings of more than $14.7 million, enough to put him in fourth place on Canada’s all-time money list behind only Daniel Negreanu ($38.6 million), Jonathan Duhamel ($17.9 million), and Samuel Greenwood ($16.6 million).

In addition to the money, Adams also earned 840 Card Player Player of the Year points for his latest win. His three high roller titles have brought his year-to-date earnings to $4,595,167. His 1,746 total POY points are enough to see him climb to 22nd in the overall POY race standings, which are sponsored in 2019 by Global Poker.

Adams made the final nine in third chip position. Adams doubled through Kazuhiko Yotsushika with a flopped set of fours holding up against his opponents flopped top pair. He chipped up even further from there, and then scored his first elimination of the final table by calling Charlie Carrel’s all-in with pocket sevens. Carrell held the AClub Suit2Spade Suit. The board ran out 5Spade Suit5Diamond Suit4Spade Suit8Spade SuitQClub Suit and Carrel was sent to the rail with $219,845 USD as the fourth-place finisher.

Adams knocked out Yotsushika in third place ($285,690 USD) to take nearly a 20-to-1 chip lead into heads-up play against Sean Winter. The American poker pro quickly doubled up three times. He got all-in yet again with 7Diamond Suit7Club Suit and was called by Adams, who held KSpade Suit5Spade Suit. The board came down QHeart Suit9Spade Suit5Heart Suit5Club Suit10Heart Suit and Adams made trip fives to secure the pot and the title.

Winter earned $436,352 USD and 700 POY points for his ninth final-table finish of 2019. As a result, he moved into third place in the overall POY rankings, with 3.164 points and more than $1.9 million in year-to-date earnings.
