bestbet Jacksonville is Northeast Florida’s preeminent poker room, simulcast and racing venue. The room is known for its top-rate cash game and tournament action, with 70 poker tables and another 18 for table games. The room has been a long-term partner of the Card Player Poker Tour, having hosted top-notch CPPT main events for seven consecutive years now. In 2019 bestbet held three satellites to this year’s 2019 World Series of Poker main event, awarding 21 seats into poker’s world championship. Among the winners of the $13,000 packages was 2018 CPPT bestbet Jackonville main event champion Ben Diebold.
“We are very excited to have the 21 representatives from Jacksonville coming out here for the 50th anniversary of the WSOP. Last year we had about the same amount of players and it was a very good time. All of our players were very excited and they all made sure we did the promotion again,” said bestbet Director of Poker Jesse Hollander. “Two years in a row, we’ve sent more people to the WSOP main event than any other brick-and-mortar card room.”
“We had two satellites scheduled in Jacksonville, and due to popular demand, we added an extra satellite at our bestbet Orange Park location,” continued Hollander.
The three ‘WSOP Mega’ events each featured a $590 buy-in with $60 rebuys. There were also numerous smaller satellites and high-hand giveaways that gave players plenty of ways to try to win their way into the $10,000 WSOP main event at a huge discount.
Not only are the 21 players who managed to win their way to Las Vegas going to have a shot at the main event bracelet. They will also be covered throughout their run by bestbet’s team, including Allison “Ally McDeal” Hollander, Jesse Hollander and the properties Tournament Director and bestbetLIVE producer Johnny Pham. The three will be making blog posts which will include information, photos and video interviews with the players representing bestbet Jacksonville.
“We want to make an event out of this. We had a players party last night at the iBar at the Rio. We got everybody pumped up, gave them their patches to wear, their bestbet swag,” said Hollander. “We are going to follow along, do some updates and blogging and make sure that everybody at home knows how to follow their friends and family.”
In 2018, Tony Miles was wearing a bestbet patch as he made a run to the final table of the WSOP main event. Miles ultimately finished in second place, cashing for $5,000,000 after a marathon heads-up match against eventual champion John Cynn. In addition to the 21 satellite winners, another half dozen or so players are already representing bestbet Jacksonville by wearing patches in the 2019 main event.
“You know, last year Tony had a great run taking second,” said Hollander. “We are just trying to do one spot better this year. That’s all we need, one spot better!”
