FanDuel sportsbook debuted its mobile platform in West Virginia Monday, which brought online sports betting back to the state after a several-month hiatus.

According to a report from the Associated Press, FanDuel partnered with The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs. The casino resort is using the New York-based fantasy sports company to run its sports betting operation.

With the introduction of FanDuel to West Virginians, they have access to online sports betting for the first time in nearly six months. Online sports betting in the Mountain State has been offline since March 6, when Delaware North, the owner of Wheeling Island and Mardi Gras casinos, sued their online provider Mionmi.

Mionmi’s partnership with the two casinos allowed the brick-and-mortar facilities to use the BetLucky app to book bets online. The app went down just before the start of March Madness with Mionmi blaming a contract dispute with Entergaming, a Cyprus-based company that owns the BetLucky app.

The lawsuit alleged that Mionmi misrepresented its stake in the BetLucky app. While negotiating with Delaware North, Mionmi claimed it owned a part of the app. But it didn’t and after a dispute with Entergaming, Mionmi was no longer allowed access to the app and West Virginians had nowhere to bet online, until now.

Before the launch of FanDuel, West Virginia was down to just three retail sports betting locations. Right now, FanDuel is the only game in town, but it looks like more options are coming soon. William Hill and PointsBet have a partnership with Penn National Gaming and The Stars Group has one with Eldorado.

The Greenbrier is owned by Gov. Jim Justice, who put his daughter in charge of the property before taking office. Justice was in office when the sports betting bill passed the state’s House and Senate. Justice allowed the bill to become law without a signature.

His daughter, Jill Justice, announced her excitement of the rollout in the press release.

“We are incredibly excited that this new app is available for download,” she said in a statement. “And the timing couldn’t be better with football season and A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier right around the corner. We hope sports fans across the state will try out the app and then some visit the amazing FanDuel Sportsbook retail location here at America’s Resort.”
