North America’s largest gaming conference kicked off in Las Vegas Monday. The annual Global Gaming Expo (G2E) will run from Oct. 14-17 in the Sands Expo and Convention Center at the Venetian.
The conference features both an expo where vendors can display some of the gambling world’s latest innovations and several panels where speakers will discuss some of the latest trends taking place in the market.
For the second year in a row, G2E will hold its Sports Betting Symposium, where several of the space’s leading experts will discuss topics that range from legislative hurdles to business strategies in the sports betting world.
This year, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman will headline one of the panels at the symposium. Bettman will be joined on stage by several CEOs of online sports betting operators and will discuss how leagues and sports betting operators can forge new business ventures together.
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will also be headlining a panel at the sports betting symposium. Christie was inducted into the sports betting hall of fame earlier this year for his work on legalization in the Garden State.
G2E, which is presented by the American Gaming Association, released its full schedule and complete list of speakers a couple months ago on the convention’s official website.
“G2E 2019 will bring the most innovating and cutting-edge gaming professionals in the world together to grow and accelerate the future of gaming,” said Bill Miller, president and CEO of the American Gaming Association. “This is a monumental time for sports betting in America, and with so much progress since our inaugural Sports Betting Symposium last year, we’re excited to expand the program to explore the latest in this brand-new U.S. market and continued growth opportunities for states and sovereign tribal nations.”
Since the Supreme Court overturned PASPA in May 2018, there are 13 states with legal sports betting and another five that have passed sports betting legislation but have yet to roll out their operations.
