The $1.7 billion Allegiant Stadium being built just off the Las Vegas Strip has found a new casino sponsorship partner.
While it may be no surprise that a sporting venue located in the heart of the nation’s gambling capital would join forces with a casino, it may surprise some to learn that the casino in question is 222 miles away in southern California.
San Manuel Casino, owned by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians in Highland, California, has inked a deal to become the official casino partner of the new home for the Las Vegas Raiders, which will start play in 2020.
“The popularity of the Raiders in Southern California is unmatched,” said Loren Gill, CEO of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. “Through this partnership we are thrilled to offer our guests more access to high quality sports and entertainment.”
The deal comes despite a 15-year partnership with Caesars Entertainment, signed last November.
San Manuel has sponsorships in place with nine other sports teams between the NFL, NHL, MLB, and MLS.
In additional to NFL games, the 65,000-seat Allegiant Stadium will also play host to UNLV football games, the PAC-12 Championship game, and international soccer events.
