Daniel Negreanu To Host Poker Tournament For Online Poker-Supporting Presidential CandidateProceeds From Poker Tournament Will Support The Campaign Efforts Of Andrew Yang |

Just before Halloween, Andrew Yang tweeted his support for the legalization of online poker at the federal level, and not just the state-by-state model currently underway in the U.S.
With the tweet, the hopeful for the 2020 Democratic nomination secured the support of most of the poker community. Now, he’s reaping the benefit as one of the game’s most recognizable faces is hosting a poker tournament as a fundraiser for him in Las Vegas.
Six-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and newly named GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu is teaming up with Katie Kalvode and Poker League of Nations founder Lena Evans to host a poker tournament in support of his presidential campaign later this month.
The tournament is part of a larger fundraising event taking place on December 15 at the Las Vegas Mosaic Theater. The event has several different entry fees ranging from $300 up to $2,800. The poker tournament is only available for those who purchase a $2,800 ticket. Participants will have the chance to win several prizes, including a day on a luxury yacht or a VIP experience with Steve Aoki.
Poker pros and fellow WSOP bracelet winners Antonio Esfandiari, Jeff Madsen, and Dutch Boyd have all confirmed that they will be playing the event.
Negreanu has been a vocal supporter of the entrepreneur since before he announced his support for online poker.
“This is just one small part of the equation for me, but if you are someone who wants poker, he’s the most logical and practical person who is also a centrist, he’s not a lefty or a righty. He’s more in the middle and he’s just practical,” Negreanu tweeted about the former entrepreneur.
Despite Negreanu’s claim, Yang is a supporter of several left-leaning policies. He is the only candidate calling for Americans to receive a universal basic income, which he calls a “freedom dividend.” He also supports Medicare for all, government-funded family leave and restrictions on certain semi-automatic weapons.
Yang is currently teetering on the verge of qualifying for the next Democratic Presidential debate. Candidates need to hit six percent in the polls to qualify but is currently polling around four percent.
