Florida officials are hoping card-playing inmates will help them solve a slew of cases that have gone cold.
Two 52-card decks featuring pictures and details about unsolved Florida crimes are being distributed to Florida prisoners starting today. Approximately 100,000 decks of cards will be distributed to inmates.
Each card has a picture (when available) of a missing person or a crime victim along with a description of what police know what happened to them. For example, the jack of hearts in one of the decks shows a picture of Lonnie C. Miller, a police detective who was killed during a robber attempt at 300 Basswood St. in Jacksonville, Florida, on May 6, 1995. All cards include a crime stopper hotline number.
The cards are available for purchase through effectiveplayingcards.com.
