In this new "Strip Poker" series, Card Player will cover the Las Vegas poker scene - from the Strip and around the city.
As reported earlier this week, 2006 Card Player Player of the Year Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi signed with Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino, but changes have already been made to Mizrachi's scheduled tournaments.
Mizrachi will host his tournaments six days a week instead of the previously scheduled three days a week. Also, the buy-in has been reduced from $580 to $120.
The tournaments begin at 7 p.m. every night except Saturday. Players start with $5,000 in chips and the blinds go up every 30 minutes. The player who eliminates Mizrachi is awarded $300 in promotional chips that can be used in the cash games. If Mizrachi does not play, the winner of the tournament will receive the promotional chips on top of the first-place prize.
Mizrachi also holds training sessions in a Q-and-A format just before the start of his tournaments at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Card Player TV got a chance to sit down with Mizrachi to talk about his new deal with Planet Hollywood. To check out that video, click here.
