Although the majority of the brick-and-mortar casinos in the U.S. have reopened following the COVID-19 shutdown, many poker rooms remain closed. With live poker options currently limited, our readers can now access Card Player Magazine for FREE!
Card Player Magazine and all of its contents are now available online, with a new edition out every two weeks. Check out the latest issue here.
This issue features rising tournament pro Alexandros Kolonias. The 34-year-old from Volos, Greece was a highly ranked junior tennis player and even played a match with top-ranked pro Novak Djokovic before finding poker. Kolonias won the 2019 WSOP Europe main event, and followed that up by being declared the top player of the Poker Masters Online series, winning the purple jacket.
“I feel like the poker I’m playing now is by far the best of my career,” said Kolonias. “I have been studying the game really hard in the last 18 months, and that has been my sole focus. I have been working on mastering areas of the game that previously I was not focused on as much. I tried to find as many leaks in my game as possible and then worked hard on fixing them.”
You can also hear from high-stakes pro Chance Kornuth, who is gearing up to play a heads-up pot-limit Omaha match with Phil Galfond. The two-time WSOP bracelet winner narrowly missed out on bracelet no. 3 this summer, finishing runner-up in an event during the online series.
The issue features a hand breakdown from recent WSOP Circuit winner Shiva Dudani. You’ll also get a column from Hollywood poker hustler Houston Curtis, who gets into the reasons why Phil Hellmuth may be a victim of “brat hazing.”
Each issue of Card Player Magazine is loaded with the latest industry news, tournament results, player interviews, and strategy columns from brilliant poker minds such as Ed Miller, Gavin Griffin, Steve Zolotow, Matt Matros, Greg Raymer, Evan Jarvis, Kevin Haney, and many more.
