The Eagle Cup from Global Poker is officially in the books with the conclusion of the main event. A total of 632 runners turned out for the SC 218 buy-in tournament, which was enough to surpass the posted SC 100,000 guarantee to create an overall prize pool of SC 126,400.
The final 99 players finished in the money, earning at least SC 290. The final table included players from all over the United States, including California, Kentucky, New Jersey, Wisconsin, and Maryland.
In the end, however, it came down to Illinois player ‘Grunka Lunka’ and Connecticut’s ‘Moe.Ron.’ After seven and a half hours of total play, ‘Grunka Lunka’ came out on top to earn the title and the first-place prize of SC 23,131.
"Grunka Lunka" defeated "Moe.Ron" heads-up for the SC23,131.20 top prize, an #E4GLECUP trophy, and a slot for next Sunday's Tournament of Champions. The Connecticuter went home with a hefty SC16,558.40 for his second-place finish. #GlobalPoker pic.twitter.com/VEewN4iGTJ
