The first entirely eight-or-better tournament of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) V played out last night with a good deal of success. The $200 buy-in limit Omaha eight-or-better tournament, event No. 8 in the 14-event FTOPS series, had 1,073 entrants to generate a prize pool of $214,600. The guaranteed prize pool for the event was $150,000, which meant that the tournament beat out its guarantee by more than 43 percent.

Plenty of notable players made it deep in the tournament. Among those in the top 20 were Jonathan "HoosierAlum" Depa (13th, for $1,459), Eric "Rizen" Lynch (14th, for $1,459), and Team Full Tilt pro Chris Ferguson (20th, $815). Of those at the final table, only muckmehard has had a previous cash in an Online Player of the Year-qualified event. (He finished in seventh place in a Full Tilt $500,000-guaranteed tournament on June 24 this year, for $14,573.)

Muckmehard and Kiajessie were the last two standing in the event, and Kiajessie bested muckmehard in the heads-up match to snag the $48,285 first-place prize. Kiajessie was also awarded an exclusive gold FTOPS jersey avatar for winning the event.

The final results were:

1) Kiajessie - $48,285
2) muckmehard - $31,117
3) AD_Stars22 - $23,069.50
4) Adar - $17,704.50
5) SDLARRY - $13,412.50
6) Gunslinger3 - $9,657
7) Ditka89 - $6,438
8) cashnotax - $4,828.50
9) bayne_s - $3,433.60

Today's event is a $300 buy-in (with $22 entry fee) shorthanded no-limit hold'em event (with rebuys). The event has a $450,000 guarantee and starts at 9 p.m. ET.
