Gamblers in most regulated sports betting markets will soon be able to wager directly through their television set.

DraftKings, one of the largest online sportsbooks in the country, announced a partnership with DISH network Wednesday that will allow its customers with the Hopper receiver to access the sportsbook from their TV. It would allow the customer to place bets on the side of the screen without interrupting the game they were watching.

The partnership could be a game-changer for in-game wagering as it would streamline the process for bettors. Once a wager is made, it will need to be confirmed through the user’s mobile device.

Once the feature is launched, bets will be available for NCAA basketball, NBA and NHL games. More leagues will be incorporated into the app in the future. It will also let customers set recordings to watch contests they wagered on or have athletes in DraftKings’ daily fantasy sports contests.

“Our deal with DISH TV and the technology behind it immerses customers within a next-generation viewership experience and reaches these fanbases in a completely new way,” said Paul Liberman, president of product and technology and co-founder of DraftKings, in a statement. “This is a unique opportunity for fans to watch games and engage with our real-money products while the technology also allows for further innovation ahead.”

DraftKings announced a deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship Thursday that makes the Boston-based company the official sportsbook of the UFC and its odds on every fight and will be shown on all broadcasts. The agreement is for five years and worth $350 million.
