There will be at least 33 World Series of Poker bracelets awarded on the virtual felt this year as organizers announced the schedule of the U.S.-facing 2021 WSOP Online.
Events will run from July 1- Aug. 1 on WSOP.com, which is accessible for those in Nevada and New Jersey. For those outside the U.S., the international segment of the WSOP Online will take place on GGPoker. The schedule for that series is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
“Poker deserves a big finish to 2021 and we’re looking to heat things up this summer,” said Ty Stewart, WSOP Executive Director. “We expect to offer great value tournaments as well as comprehensive satellites to qualify for Las Vegas in the Fall."
The inaugural WSOP Online attracted over 283,983 entries, with more than $174.5 million in prize money paid across the domestic and international segments, with a total of 85 bracelets awarded along the way. The 2021 WSOPO will be one part of a three-pronged approach to the WSOP this year, with the traditional live and in-person WSOP set to take place from Sept. 30 – Nov. 23 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. The number of bracelets to be awarded in Las Vegas has not yet been announced. The WSOP Europe is also set to return in 2021, with 15 bracelet events expected between Nov. 19 through Tuesday, Dec. 8 at the King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.
The 2021 WSOP Online domestic schedule was broken down into several themed segments, starting off with ‘Premiere Week’. Highlights from the first seven days include
a pair of number-themed tournaments: the ‘Lucky Sevens’ $777 buy-in no-limit hold’em event running on July 7 and the ‘Crazy Eights’ $888 buy-in no-limit hold’em event the following day.
The second weekend of the schedule is dubbed ‘Micro Madness’, and features the only three tournaments on the schedule with buy-ins below $500. Next up on the agenda is ‘PLO Week’, which sports three of the four non-no-limit hold’em events on the schedule, with a pair of $600 pot-limit Omaha six-max events and a pot-limit Omaha version of the ‘Crazy Eights’ event.
‘Double Bracelet Day’ will take place on July 25, with the $7,777 buy-in high roller event and the 500 ‘Big500 Encore’ bein the only bracelet events scheduled for the same date throughout this 33-event series.
‘Championship Week’ will bring the series to its climax with a number of championship events, highlighted by the $500 buy-in no-limit hold’em ‘Grand Finale’ event, which will feature a $1,000,000 guarantee, the largest in WSOP.com history. That event will be the final tournament of the US-facing segment of the WSOP Online, and is set to kick off on Aug. 1. Check out the image below for a look at the complete schedule.
