The Washington Nationals became the first Major League Baseball franchise to launch a sportsbook from its stadium.

BetMGM launched a betting app in Washington D.C. late last week, but gamblers can only place wagers within a two-block radius from Nationals Park, according to a report from ESPN Chalk.

The team is also putting the finishing touches on a brick-and-mortar sportsbook inside the stadium that BetMGM will also run. The retail sportsbook is expected to be finished later this season. Per MLB rules, fans inside the stadium will not be allowed to access the sportsbook. Instead, the book will have an entrance from the street, but not from inside the stadium.

DraftKings is working with the Chicago Cubs to open a similar sportsbook at Wrigley Field, but the Nationals are on pace to open their facility first.

Last month, William Hill unveiled its sportsbook inside Capital One Arena, where the NHL’s Washington Capitals and NBA’s Washington Wizards play their home games. It became the first sportsbook inside a professional sports arena.
