Roland Czika 2021 World Series of Poker Online $400 'DOUBLE CHANCE' Pot-Limit Omaha Event

After facing a huge chip deficit four-handed at the final table, Roland ‘Quina Quen’ Czika mounted a massive comeback to earn his first World Series of Poker bracelet.

The Hungarian topped the 975-entry field in the WSOP Online International $400 pot-limit Omaha double chance event to earn $55,369 along with the hardware. He defeated China’s Lei ‘A LEI’ Yang heads-up to secure the title. Mike Watson, a high-stakes pro with $12.1 million in live tournament earnings, finished third.

Czika started the second and final day of the tournament in the middle of the leaderboard and entered the final table in a similar situation – fourth in chips at the seven-handed final table.

Czika was able to accumulate chips, and briefly take over the chip lead, while three players hit the rail over the first couple of levels at the final table. Stanislav ‘shrekpoker’ Halatenko fell in seventh, when he checked flop, bet turn and shoved river with pocket aces on a KQQ52 board. Yang check-called down with quad queens and sent him packing.

Arkadiusz ‘Noksuko’ Liszewski was eliminated by Noam ‘lamalo’ Garama in sixth when they both flopped top pair and got all the chips in the middle. They both flopped top pair on a Q62 board, but Liszewski’s ace kicker had the lead. Garama drilled one of his secondary cards on the turn, however, to make two pair, and Liszewski couldn’t improve on the river.

Garama also sent Mariam ‘WisdomTree’ Nozadze home as well when he flopped a straight against Nozadze’s pocket aces to leave the table four-handed.

Four-handed play lasted for several levels and saw chips passed all over the table with the chip lead changing hands multiple times. It was also when Czika found himself at his low point and nearly out of the tournament.

With blinds at 175,000-350,000, Watson raised from under the gun and Czika three-bet on the button. Watson called. Watson check-called a bet on the QQJ flop and both players checked the 2 turn. Watson jammed the river and Czika folded, leaving himself with just above 3.2 million, which was less than 10 big blinds and less than a third of the Garama’s stack, who was third in chips at the time.

During the next level, however, Czika’s luck turned around. He doubled through Garama with QQ82 against Garama’s JJ92. Just a couple minutes later, he got the best of Watson in a non-showdown pot. Just like that, he was neck-and-neck with Watson for the chip lead, while Garama became the short stack.

Garama’s busted in fourth at the hands of Czika, which sent Czika into the chip lead. From there, it was smooth sailing to the victory.

Czika picked off a massive river bluff from Watson with trip fours on a 1044106 board and busted the Canadian pro just a few hands later. He started heads-up play versus Yang with a slight chip lead that was extended to about 3-to-1 after he took the first significant pot of heads-up play.

Yang made his stand when he shoved the turn with bottom pair, the second nut flush draw and a gutshot, but Czika called with top pair and held for the title.
