Henry Luo Wins ¥815 World Series of Poker Online Zodiac Autumn Festival

The ¥815 buy-in World Series of Poker Online ‘Zodiac Autumn Festival’ no-limit hold’em event drew a massive field of 7,036 entries across 20 starting flights, creating a prize pool equivalent to $818,645 USD. That money was paid out among the top 800 finishers, with the largest share going to eventual champion Henry ‘Coke@Macu’ Luo. The Hong Kong resident earned ¥563,257 ($87,404 USD) and his first WSOP gold bracelet for the win.

The final day of this event began with 1,343 players remaining from the sea of entries. It took approximately 10 hours to narrow the field down to a final table of nine. Luo sat in fourth chip position when the field converged on a single table to battle it out for the bracelet.

Luo survived to seven-handed action, with Carlos Silva (9th – $8,740) and Sota Yamashita (8th – $11,655) hitting the rail in the first 45 minutes of play. Luo then won a three-way all-in with AA holding up against the QQ of Yannick Schumacher and the KJ of Robert Kaggerud, who has the least chips to start the hand. Kaggerud was eliminated in seventh place, taking home $15,543.

Yuhan Liu lost a preflop race, with his A-Q failing to outrun the pocket jacks of Martin Pochat. The pocket pair held and Pochat took down the sizable pot to climb into the lead, eliminating Liu in sixth place ($20,727).

Schumacher won a preflop race of his own against Tiago Lessa (5th – $27,639) to make his way up the leaderboard. Pochat’s Q-8 beat out the A-8 of Ryosuke Kubodera (4th – $65,543) in a battle of the blinds to extend his lead heading into three-handed action.

Luo was the short stack t start, but event things up with a pair of double-ups. He made a flush against Schumacher to edge his way into the lead. Schumacher got all-in not long after that with A3 facing the 99 of Pochat. The nines held up and Schumacher settled for $49,151 as the third-place finisher.

With that Pochat took roughly a 4:3 chip advantage into heads-up play with Luo. A preflop showdown saw Luo’s pocket tens defeat the A-6 of Pochat to swap the lead. Not long after that Pochat got all-in with K3 facing the AJ of Luo. The board ran out Q62102 to secure the pot and the title of Luo. Pochat earned $65,543 as the runner-up finisher.
