InterPoker, the company whose Extreme Poker series has taken players to the Arctic Circle, the bottom of the Caribbean, and 30,000 feet above the Nevada desert, yesterday announced its latest installment in the series - a high stakes poker game on a cliff ledge 270 feet above jagged rocks in Sydney Harbor.

Six players will take part in a high-stakes no-limit hold'em game on the cliffs of North Head, Manly, on Oct. 4.

A poker table will be suspended above jagged rocks and the Pacific Ocean below. The poker players will be suspended with a frightening 270 feet drop below them, and losing players will be required to dive from the table into the sea below.

The winner will be jetted off to the Caribbean Island of St. Kitts for the Extreme Poker Underwater finals in December.

InterPoker has organized Extreme Poker tournaments around the world; underwater at the bottom of the Caribbean Sea (where players who ran out of air went bust), in the Arctic Circle at minus 30c (where players lost their clothes if they lost their chips), and flying 30,000 feet above the Las Vegas desert (where losing players had to leap from the plane).

Peter Marcus, spokesman for the company, said, "Sydney will prove the most challenging poker game ever, with endurance, ability, and nerves all being put to the test. Extreme Poker is aimed to test the physical and mental limits of even the most seasoned pub poker player and takes the much-loved game of hold'em to heart-racing and exhilarating frontiers."

Anyone over the age of 18 is eligible to play in the Australian Extreme Poker Tournament, all six seats will be up for grabs through an on-air and online radio promotion, and via www.extremepoker.com.
