A couple from the state of Mississippi has been accused of cheating at roulette at a Pittsburgh casino.
According to a report from Trib Live, Shaun Benward, 33, and Denielle Derohan, 42, are both charged with theft, conspiracy, and five counts of perpetrating fraudulent schemes while gaming at Rivers Casino.
They had not been arrested as of Wednesday.
Police allege that they cheated at roulette in February on three occasions, reaping more than $10,000 in total from the alleged incidents.
“Benward would approach a roulette table where Derohan was already gaming, according to the complaint,” the report said in description of the alleged scheme. “While the ball is spinning and has not yet landed, Benward would hand chips to the dealer and engage him in conversation. As the ball landed, Derohan would allegedly tip off Benward, who would place his bet before the dealer realized the ball had landed.”
They won about $3,500 on each incident, according to authorities.
