Nevada Casinos Take $1.1B Off Gamblers In AprilSports Betting Handle Up More Than 27% |

April was another huge month for the Nevada casino industry.
Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total gaming win of $1,128,480,917 for the month of April 2022, according to figures from the Nevada Gaming Control Board released Thursday.
The revenue amounted to an 8.57% increase compared to April 2021, when casinos reported a gaming win of $1,039,358,922. For the fiscal year (July 1, 2021 through April 30, 2022), gaming win has increased 46.26%.
The State of Nevada collected $69,862,415 in percentage fees during the month of May 2022, based upon the taxable revenues generated in April 2022.
Slot machine revenue for the month was more than $804 million, up about 1.3% year-over-year. Slot revenue returned to more normal levels last month, as in March gamblers lost a record of more than $900 million to the machines.
Last month, table game revenue increased year-over-year by nearly 32% to $324.3 million.
Online and retail sportsbooks saw a seven-percent uptick in April to $25.4 million. The handle was up more than 27 precent to more than $582 million. About three-quarters of those wagers were placed via the internet as opposed to in-person.
The more than $1.1 billion in total statewide gambling win continues an unprecedented run for Silver State casinos. The streak of billion-dollar months is now at 14. That’s never happened before in Nevada casino gambling history.
