World Poker Tour Signs Doyle Brunson To Ambassador RoleBrunson Plans To Play WSOP Main Event This Summer |

Poker legend Doyle Brunson, winner of 10 World Series of Poker bracelets, is now a member of the World Poker Tour’s stable of ambassadors.
Terms of the deal with the 88-year-old Poker Hall of Famer were not disclosed.
“As WPT’s newest representative,” an announcement said, “Brunson will attend WPT events and work alongside online partners in promotional efforts. Under his new ambassadorship, poker players and fans will have opportunities to meet with Doyle throughout the WPT live tournament schedule.”
“Doyle has been a part of the World Poker Tour from the very beginning,” said Adam Pliska, World Poker Tour CEO. “I was there for his WPT Legends of Poker victory in 2004 when he joined the WPT Champions Club, and to also be here to welcome him to the WPT family after all this time feels surreal.”
Brunson is the latest addition in a wave of WPT ambassador signings since the start of Season XX, including poker YouTubers Brad Owen and Andrew Neeme, and DJ Steve Aoki.
Phil Hellmuth, another Poker Hall of Famer, is also a WPT ambassador.
“I’ve said this many times before, but it bears repeating: we don’t stop playing because we get old; we get old because we stop playing,” Brunson said in a statement.
Brunson doesn’t play many poker tournaments these days, but he’s still a fixture in cash games in Las Vegas, where he has long resided. Brunson showed up at the WSOP in 2021, coming out of tournament poker retirement to make an appearance.
He plans to play in the 2022 WSOP Main Event.

Brunson, also known as “Texas Dolly,” has more than $6 million in lifetime tournament earnings, putting himself just outside the top-100 of all-time. At one point in his illustrious career, he was the all-time leader in tournament scores.
