Strip Poker: Station Casinos Giving Money Away

Play 10 Minutes and Get an Entry Into a Weekly Drawing For Cash Prizes

In this "Strip Poker" series, Card Player covers the Las Vegas poker scene - on The Strip and around the city.

Station CasinosWhen casinos give away money in poker rooms, players often have to play long hours, wait for weeks or months, and place high enough in a freeroll tournament to receive any of it. However, at participating Station Casinos in Las Vegas, only 10 minutes is required and the money is given away every week.

At Palace Station, Boulder Station, Texas Station, Santa Fe Station, Green Valley Ranch, and Red Rock, players who have a Boarding Pass players card will automatically earn one entry into a weekly drawing for free money for every 10 minutes of cash-game play.

Entries earned at each specific property will count toward only that casino's drawing, but players can still earn entries at multiple casinos and be eligible to win at all of them. Each casino gives away $2,500 every Tuesday night at 6 p.m. PT, and players do not have to be present to win. They must claim their prize within 48 hours, which provides some convenience, but it also pays to show up for the drawing itself. Those who claim their winnings within 10 minutes of the drawing will receive a bonus prize. Names are chosen automatically by a computer.

The following are the payouts:

  1. $500 + $200 if present
  2. $250 + $100 if present
  3. $100 + $75 if present
  4. $100 + $75 if present
  5. $100 + $75 if present
  6. $100 + $75 if present
  7. $100 + $75 if present
  8. $100 + $75 if present
  9. $100 + $75 if present
  10. $100 + $75 if present

Any prizes not collected will roll over to the next week, and the top three places will split the extra money evenly. This rollover money is handled individually by casino and includes bonuses and prizes forfeited because of the 48-hour rule.
