Nevada Casinos Win $1.3 Billion In MayWinnings Were Tops All-Time For The Fifth Month Of The Year |

Nevada casinos turned in another $1 billion month, their record 15th in a row.
According to figures from the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total gaming win of $1.30 billion for the month of May 2022. The winnings were a 5.7% increase compared to May 2021, when licensees reported winning $1.22 billion off gamblers.
The $1.3 billion in May was the best ever May for the industry, per the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
For the fiscal year (July 1, 2021 through May 31, 2022), gaming win has increased 41%.
Nevada collected $91.9 million in percentage fees during the month of June 2022, based upon the taxable revenues generated in May 2022.
Casinos on the Las Vegas, the Silver State’s main casino corridor, won $731.5 million from gamblers in May, up 11.6% year-over-year.
Slot machines, as they always do, led the way statewide. In May, about 67% of the revenue came from the one-armed bandits, mostly from the so-called penny slots.
