At this year's World Series of Poker, the world was introduced to South African player Raymond Rahme. He finished third in the main event and became an instant poker celebrity. It helped boost the already rising popularity of poker in South Africa, and now, the tournament series that the country calls its own is expecting a huge turnout for the second-annual South African Poker Open, scheduled to take place Feb. 5-11, 2008, at the Montecasino in Gauteng.

A $6,000 event package is also offered, which includes entries into all three events, seven nights of accommodation at the Montecasino, a welcoming cocktail evening and closing dinner gala, transfer-excluding flights, and all meals during the championship week.
