As part of a hedge against a promotion at his Houston furniture store, Jim McIngvale, better known as “Mattress Mack,” won a whopping $75 million on the Houston Astros Saturday night.

Mack put down a reported $10 million at various online sportsbooks when the Astros were relative longshots to win the World Series. About $3 million was placed at Caesars, which paid him out about $30 million. He got the Astros at 10-1 this past spring at Caesars.

“What can we say? We just wrote the biggest check in sports betting history to Mattress Mack for $30,000,000,” Ken Fuchs, chief operating officer for Caesars Digital, said in a company release Saturday night.

The $75 million is the largest sports betting payout publicly recorded.

Various other sportsbooks took the rest of his action, which totaled $10 million.

Mack’s furniture store promo offered to refund any customer who spent at least $3,000 on furniture double their money back if the Astros won the World Series, ESPN reported. It’s unclear how much Mack will ultimately profit from the Astros win.

McIngvale issued the following statement after the win:

The last 41 years of my life have been the greatest years of my life, no question. It’s an honor and a privilege to serve all of you every day.

From the annual Christmas giveaways, taking pictures daily with fellow Houstonians and Texans at Gallery Furniture North Freeway, refunding tens of millions of dollars since we started these promotions, from Hurricane Harvey to Hurricane Imelda to the winter ice storm and everything in between.

You’ve always been there for me, for your neighbor, for your community, for our city, for our state, for our country, and I’m grateful to you. With tears in my eyes and a heavy heart, I’m sincerely grateful to you.

I love Houston. As I’ve said in many speeches, Linda and I sacrificed in many ways to try to be the best leaders for the community, for the city, for our employees, and for our children that we could. Thank you to my children, and thank you to my Gallery Furniture family. I love all of you, and I wouldn’t be who I am without YOU. All of you.

Thank you to my parents, who I know are smiling down on me and us from Heaven. Thank you to my brother George, who I know is also smiling down on me and us from Heaven and with whom I’m so proud to share this victory. Thank you to all my brothers and sisters, thank you to ALL OF YOU – we share this victory together.

This last week has been especially… beyond words. An incident that was just me trying to defend my city, and our team galvanized the city.

It’s beyond words my gratitude for all of you always having my back. What can I say?
I love y’all. I love this city. I would do anything for this city, and I would do anything for you. I’m so proud to be part of this city and will ALWAYS stand up for you for what’s right, and like in Harvey, Imelda, and more will always do my best to act QUICKLY and on the side of the people. I love y’all. I could go on and on.
