The WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas festival is now less than a month away, with the first events kicking off at the luxury resort and casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Wynn Las Vegas has already awarded more than $400,000,000 in tournament poker prize money over the years, and that number is set to grow in a major way before 2023 comes to a close.

The upcoming series will run from Nov. 29 through Dec. 23 this year, with the centerpiece of the whole affair being the massive $40,000,000 guaranteed $10,400 buy-in championship event, which runs from Dec. 12-21. That event raised the guarantee from $15 million last year to the new record-setting $40 million mark, with an additional starting flight available when compared to the structure of last year’s tournament that attracted a gigantic field of 2,960 entries.

“The astonishing support and excitement we’ve seen from the poker community after just one year is nothing like I’ve seen before,” said Ryan Beauregard, Executive Director of Poker Operations at Wynn Las Vegas. “We look forward to the 2023 WPT World Championship and hosting another industry-leading event with an unparalleled player experience.”

Eliot HudonThat strong turnout in 2022 saw the guarantee nearly doubled, with a final prize pool of $29,008,000 that was paid out among the top 371 finishers. In the end, Eliot Hudon walked away with the title and the top prize of $4,136,000. The top six finishers all earned seven-figure paydays.

This year will feature four starting flights as the event shoots to meet the largest guarantee in poker history. According to the structure sheet, $9,800 from each buy-in will be going into the prize pool, meaning a total of 4,082 entries are required to surpass the guarantee.

“The WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas is poised to reach new heights and we wanted to match that expectation with a guarantee that no live poker tournament has ever seen before,” said WPT Chief Executive Officer Adam Pliska. “The journey to December begins now, and we plan on giving players another unforgettable experience at Wynn Las Vegas.”

The WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas festival runs from Nov. 29-Dec.23 and features over 30 events. Other highlights include the $5 million guaranteed WPT Prime Championship $1,100 buy-in event (Dec. 7-12), the $250,000 guaranteed WPT Ladies World Championship (Dec. 6-8), and the $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop (Dec. 18-20).
