Those with claustrophobia probably wouldn’t want to be stuck on an elevator for any extended amount of time. A Pennsylvania man recently experienced that scenario firsthand in a casino after accidentally trapping himself inside.
Firefighters rescued a 45-year-old Harrisburg man from an elevator on Dec. 9 at the Hollywood Casino in Grantville. Police allege he smashed the inside of the elevator which led to a malfunction of the door.
No Luck In The Elevator
All gamblers have experienced some losing sessions at the tables, and a particularly bad beat might spark the occasional outburst, but officers allege this man took out his frustrations in the wrong place.
“An investigation revealed the guest was angry as a result of betting losses and repeatedly kicked the elevator’s inside door, ‘critically disabling the elevator and entrapping him just between casino floors,’” WHTM reports.
The incident may add even more to those losses. State police are now investigating and criminal charges may be coming soon.
This becomes the latest bizarre incident at a casino in recent weeks. In Fresno, California, a man has been charged with sabotaging at least 35 visitors’ vehicles at the Table Mountain Casino. Police allege he left metal spike devices known as “caltrops” at the casino and on an adjacent road to slice through visitors’ tires after “feuding” with the casino.
