The World Poker Tour is making its first stop in Spain today with the WPT Spanish Championship, a $10,530 event that takes place at Casino Barcelona. Day one (A) starts today, and the final table of the tournament takes place Tuesday.
CardPlayer.com has its tournament-reporting team on the ground in Barcelona and will be providing live updates and reports from the entire event. Please click here to view the live updates page for the WPT Spanish Championship. Links to photos, videos, and reports can be found there.
The tournament kicks off at around 5 p.m. local time in Spain (8 a.m. PT). The late start is to help players coming from America to adjust to the time difference.
This WPT has played in Europe since its first season (usually in France), but this is the first time it will take place in another country. The tournament will be taped and broadcast sometime next year on GSN.
